LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Friends,
As you know, there are 2 bills currently before the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight that would replace Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples Day as a Massachusetts State Holiday.
The hearing on these two bills is tentatively scheduled for October 3, 2023 at the State House. The time and location of the hearing will be confirmed a week prior to the hearing. As soon as we have this information we will let you know.
There will be two opportunities to help in our effort to stop these bills:
You can sign up to give live testimony at the hearing
You can submit written testimony to the committee.
If you are interested in doing so, please let us know. We will give instructions on how to sign up as soon as they are given to us by the committee.
